Back to some normality in Lima

After the Rainforest we spent four days in the busy city of Lima, where the traffic makes no sense. However despite the crazy roads we enjoyed our time there. The food was good and there was plenty to do.

We spent an afternoon at the Museum of the Inquisition, tried what is apparently the best Pisco sour in the world at Hotel Boliviar (And it is definitely the best I have had so far!) and caught a film at the cinema, which included a giant tub of popcorn. We spent an afternoon in the district of Miraflores, where there are many bars and restaurants and a posh shopping complex overhanging a cliff on the sea front.

We also went to the Hippodrome to try our luck on the horses. Our luck was pretty much non-existent but at 3 soles (85p) a bet it was still a cheap afternoon.
